Spend a little time reading about transhumanism, and you’re sure to come across the subject of the Singularity. Ray Kurzweil isn’t the only one talking about it. The concept has been around for a while, both in science fiction and (originally) in the field of theoretical physics. In the latter, it’s believed that singularities exist at the center of a black hole. The border of a black hole is what’s called an event horizon- essentially the point of no return.
